Wine matters……with everything

How I spend my Canada 150th.   Long weekend. June 29- July 3

July 3.. Finale

We enjoyed the #torontoribfestival with my daughter.  Crap we missed taking the pic of the ribs.. somebody ate it off too fast

#jackinthebone ribs and chicken was #yummy

We all left Centennial park and my daughter ditched us. There was still time before fire works so we wanted made a quick stop by #redpathfestival to take a quick tour bit that ended by the time we got there so we strolled over Toronto Harbour (Toronto Island airport) and relaxed for a bit.  Just watching the airplanes land and take off is always one of those simple yet fun things to do. Admiring and enjoying the beautiful #cityoftoronto is always a treat in itself.

July 2..Family #soulfoodsunday must be maintained at all times..

After the family feast we headed  to the #canadareggaefestival in Brampton. The  MC and Promoter convienently disappeared only to have the DJ announced that due to unfulfilled financial obligations by the promoter, the main act will not be performing. Much to the dismay of patiently waiting patrons, this has happened one time too many. It would have been more appreciated if the patrons knew in advance so they can decide to stay and enjoy the existing acts or leave. Is this a matter due to ill prepared or inexperienced promoters?  U decide!

We decided to have our very own amateur talent show in the parking lot

July1-July3. .#canada150

My first stop after my errands today was to #chinguacousypark in Brampton for the big celebrations. It was a full house with a sea of red and white. It was quite amazing and refreshing to see everyone in such high spirit and a sense of pride for both young and old. Such pride that even the city truck is sporting a flag..

I headed off to a family friend to finish off this # canada 150. I was also decked out in my red n white .. #familytime

June 29

TD Jazz Festival @ Yorkville

Taking a stroll and enjoying a bit of the jazz festival in Yorkville.. sights, sounds and ambience.

Having a bite to fill the hunger gap. . In my very own garden .

Summer kick off..June 18 wknd

With the hot weather finally  here and looks like it’s sticking around, I headed to my first series of festivals. On Friday June 16, my daughter  and I checked out the Taste of Toronto which was  a bit disappointing.  The entrance fee was a bit much and the food was no more than sampling portions.  Plus it rained and cut our evening short. Nonetheless, It was still a blast hanging out.

On sat June 17. Me , my sis , mom and her girlfriend headed to Mississauga Waterfront Festival in Port credit #Mississauga. It was  a great evening just hanging out in the midway and taking a stroll along the waterfront. Ending the nite without satisfying your sweet tooth would be meaningless. We bumped into an amazing little booth that served us up a dessert to die for.. waffles and shakes combo with endless amount of fresh fruit topping either ice cream and whip cream. Yum yummy.. #fruititup.. Drew, the owner,  killed it with  great service  It is certainly a great way to top off the nite and the weekend.

Check out these beauties…#sexymachines

Another Black History Month has come and gone. What have you learnt?

“Black History Month began as “Negro History Week,” which was created in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, a noted African American historian, scholar, educator, and publisher. It became a month-long celebration in 1976. The month of February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln”

‘Why is it that Black History Month Celebration happens on the shortest month of the year?  There is the answer, in short.

I think that we should not focus on the length of the month, be it short or long, but rather see it as an opportunity to share. Yes, there exist this amazing platform, to learn more and to share more of what we learn.  No doubt we should be doing that every day or at every given chance we get, but let’s be realistic, in the midst of our chaotic and busy lives, that is not going to happen at ALL times…

So when February comes around and we have a whole vast of events, activities, entertainment etc. ,that is Black History focused, take the opportunity  to get out and get that extra information, that either you had no time to get for yourself, or wasn’t even aware of and in turn share that information so others can learn as well and be empowered. Believe it or not, when February comes around, people are in that BHM state of mind and with social media we can share so much more.

BHM 2017, was the same for me as every other year.  I enjoyed a few events,  met a few amazing people and expanded my knowledge a bit more. This year, I learned about the Black Wall Street. That imagery and story will stay with me for quite a while. This was shared via social media and I am so blessed to have been a part of that circle.

So now that the “public” celebration of BHM 2017 is wrapped up for another year, share with us what is the one thing you have learnt this year that you didn’t know before or something that has changed you in one way or another. This story has impacted me and I am sharing it in the hope of knowledge gain is knowledge shared. Remember always Black History is World History.

Today Feb 18th is National Drink Wine Day across USA..  But what about Canada and the rest of the world? I think  there should be a Canada Drink Wine Day, or better yet it should be Global or International Drink Wine Day.. That way we can all celebrate together.. According to the official website, the purpose of the Drink Wine Day is to spread the love and health benefits of wine. So where is the love?

Today, in support and celebration of a Global Drink Wine Day, I will start with 1 glass or maybe 3.. ( 1 for me, 1 for you and 1 to share ) to join me?

Drink Well, Drink Responsibly and as Always Wine Matters With Everything!!!

images.jpg CHEERS!!!!

The purpose of National Drink Wine Day is to spread the love and health benefits of wine. Wine has played an important role in history, religion and relationships. We embrace the positive benefits of wine such as new friends, reduced risk of heart disease and the enhancement of food and life”.

Giving it all

This is the post excerpt.

This project is long over due. I love beating the streets and trying new foods and finding great treasures in the city. I just thought it would be a great idea to share it. I have always been the go to person for events..SO hear I am.

Stay buzzed in…
